Document Management Today is the official blog of The Karmann Group.  This site provides information and opinion on the entire spectrum of products, services, and mental states necessary to implement a document management  strategy as well as work away from a traditional office.

The Karmann Group is a Portland, Oregon based consulting and solutions firm that assists organizations in reducing or the eliminating paper in the workplace.  Our work takes two forms: First – Reducing what is produced on paper.  Second – Converting existing files from paper to a digital format that are then available online.

Our engagements have resulted in a dramatic reduction in paper usage for our clients.  The byproduct  for our clients has been significant gains in efficiency with a corresponding drop in operating cost.  A side benefit, and perhaps a more a socially significant one, is that having a company’s documents available online, frees employees from having to show up at a traditional office.

It is at this point that The True Virtual Office can be realized.
